A Little Bit Of History

Ours was a humble beginning. World War II was over and families were back together again and once more being able to enjoy one of their favorite hobbies, that of sharing and showing their dogs.
In 1947, the Club held its first Sanctioned A match. What an event that was, most breeds were there strutting around the ring and the excitement was apparent because soon we would be able to hold our first AKC point show! That very next year 1948 The Greater Miami Dog Club held its First Annual AKC All Breed Point Show. Since 1947 Serving the interest of Purebred Dogs in the Greater Miami Area! Our catalogs are a bit more expensive but, we still get together to share our love of dogs. |

We have seen new dog owners join, get married, have children, and we have watched as their children have grown into fine young adults and, over the years, we have had to tearfully say farewell to way too many members. We have old members and young members but most of all we have wonderful members that support this club with true dedication and enthusiasm! We are here to extend a welcome to all who share our love of dogs and the sport of pure bred dogs. Please feel free to come to one of our meetings as a guest and to download our membership application if you are interested in joining us.
